RESURGO MAGAZINE was created in the belief that canons (in all of their etymological forms) are killing machines, that the best things come to those who work, and that the best voices of our generation are at risk of being silenced by the status quo. We believe that editorial ego has no place in the publishing world, and that new media and independent publishing should serve to create a community of artists with no fears but of fear, itself, second only to that of the ink-less pen. Thus, we have decided to brave the brutality of the slush-pile- the sea of cast-offs of the literary mainstream- in order to salvage the most powerful voices that might be hiding in the fog before it is too late.
We publish work that is bold, intelligent, brave, and necessary. We welcome work by new and established writers, alike, so long as it has been rejected elsewhere at some point & compels the world to listen.
